Rachel Wesson has the skill of taking a character I didn't particularly care about in a previous book and making him/her interesting and making me like him/her without changing who she/he had been in the previous book. And she doesn't lose previously highlighted characters by turning them into shells of their previous selves. That's a problem I see in some other series in the genre: the female characters, once their turn to "star" is done, become simpering Stepford Wives. Rachel avoids this in this series and in her Clover Springs series, offering characters with depth and room to grow. Keep writing them and I'll keep reading them!Product details

Rachel Wesson has done it again!!!! I enjoy her stories, she can make you feel like you're there with them. Her Clover Springs books are like coming home to family & friends, much like you feel reading her Oregon trail books.
This is a very good book. It was a little slow getting started, but turned out to be very interesting. I didn't want to put it down, and some nights it was 3 in the morning before I quit reading. Very good
I love all of Rachel Wesson's books, this series is one of the best by far. Unforgettable tragedies along the Oregon trail. My favorite in this story is Almonso a young hero. Hoping he has his own story.
Such a good book, highly recommended
Enjoyed a clean, non sexually explicit story that kept interest up. Strong characters that were caring, hard working, independent thinkers was fun to read. Rachel is a better story teller than writer but I will always read a good story that is full of heart and fun over one that is prosaic and wordy. Thank you and will look for more like these three Oregon Trail books!
I enjoyed the three books in this series very much. They do not have to be read in order and can be stand alone books. After the Revolutionary War, there are not many men left as husband material, so the ladies answer ads for wives from the men in Oregon. Some work out and others do not. Some interesting historical points on the hardships the ladies faced on their trek across the country on the Oregon Trail. Very enjoyable read.
I am so loving this series. This book was so awesome. Had so many twists and turns, filled with wild adventures, heart pumping situations and sweet clean tender love. I just fell in love with Becky and her personality. Rachel is such a wonderful author her characters come alive off the pages, hard to put the book down it's so exciting. She sure does her homework in looking into history and making your eyes open into the past.
I can hardly wait for the next one. Oh I hope there is one!
Oregon Destiny—Trails of the Heart Book 3 by Rachel Wesson continues with focus on Indians, the Captain’s revenge, and the romance between feisty Becky and the Captain. They finally reach Oregon but are disappointed in the town so continue farther.
There is a nice balance between adventure and relationship building in this one. Again, another fast, entertaining and interesting read about families on a wagon train going to Oregon. I am enjoying this light series very much.
